SPRING FLOWERS - NEW BEGINNINGS SOCIAL
Saturday, June 1, 2024 - 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Parkside Centre, 140 Durham St., Sudbury, ON

What a fantastic turnout for our Spring Social!!  Thank you to all the dancers who participated - without you we wouldn't be able to conduct events like this!  Not only local dancers attended, but we had some from North Bay, Warren, Sturgeon Falls, and Manitoulin Island as well - 35 in all (not counting Colette Proulx and myself)!  A wide variety and levels of dances done, with only a couple of dances with no alternate dance to do.  Eventually those will be added to our "Floor Split" list, once we figure out what alternate dance will fit the music.

Draws were conducted for complimentary lessons from both Colette Proulx and Carol Larocque. For the out-of-town dancers, we had a gift card.

We managed to complete the playlist by 4:10 p.m.  Everyone left with smiles on their faces, and perhaps sore feet?  That's ok - the feet will recover!  Group photos were taken as well as others - have a look below!

Mark your calendars - the next Fall Festival Social is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Colette Proulx is leading this one.  Cost:  $7.00.  Half the net proceeds from this Fall Festival and our Christmas Social will be used to purchase gifts for the "Santa for Seniors" program at Parkside Centre.  Seniors who are alone complete a "tag" to hang on the Christmas tree with articles they would like to receive from Santa.  People read the tags, remove them and purchase the items requested, and return the items to Parkside Centre.  A group of volunteers arrange to meet and wrap the gifts, which are delivered close to Christmas Day.  Last year we were able to purchase for three (3) seniors.  Hopefully we can be a Santa to more this year!  Your attendance to our Socials help out in so many ways by making others happy at a time of year when it might be lonely for seniors who have no family or who are unable to meet with friends.
