ANGELS ON HIGH LINE DANCE SOCIAL - DECEMBER 6, 2025
What a great turn-out to start the holiday season! Illness kept some dancers from attending, but those that were healthy danced their hearts out to regular and Christmas music. Half of net proceeds from this social and the Hallowe'en social were used to purchase gifts for Santa for Seniors. The other half pays for the room rent at Parkside Centre.
Santa for Seniors: seniors who have no family here in Sudbury, or are house-bound, register with Home Instead (an organization who work to keep seniors in their homes/apartments). Their names are put on tags on the Christmas tree in the lobby of Parkside Centre (Older Adult Centre). People who are willing to help make Christmas a little brighter for senior, take the tag and register the number on the tag with the front-desk ambassadors. They then purchase items that the senior has listed as gift wishes on the tag. The items are then returned to Parkside Centre by a specific date, and are wrapped by a group of volunteers. The gifts are then delivered to the seniors on a specific date.
We were able to raise $230 to be split between the two tags (one male, one female) that were taken from the tree. Thank you to Debby Spruce for offering to purchase the gifts for the seniors - it was much appreciated!
A huge "THANK YOU" to those who attended the Social - some it was their first Social attendance - and veteran dancers who always support the Socials. Without your participation and support, we would not have been able to make a lonely senior a little happier at this holiday time.
